Autumn Craft: Pumpkin Prints with Half-Cut Apples

Bring the spirit of autumn to your club with this simple and fun pumpkin print activity, perfect for all ages!

Materials Needed:

Apples (cut in half)

Orange paint

Green paint, pencils or biros (for the stems)

Paint brushes

Paint trays

White or coloured paper

Black marker (optional for face)

Instructions:

Prepare the apples:

Start by cutting apples in half, creating a flat surface for printing. The flat side will be used to stamp the paint.

Applying the Paint:

Pour orange paint onto a paper plate or paint tray. Use another plate for green paint. These will be your pumpkin body and legs.

Stamp the Pumpkins:

Dip the flat side of the apple into the orange paint, making sure the whole surface is covered. Then, press the apple firmly onto the paper to create a “pumpkin” shape. Repeat as many times as you’d like to fill the paper with pumpkin prints.

Add Stems:

Use a small paintbrush to paint green stems at the top of each pumpkin print. You can also add little green leaves if desired.

Optional Faces:

Once the paint has dried, use a black marker to draw spooky or funny faces on your pumpkins to turn them into jack-o’-lanterns!

Let Dry:

Set your artwork aside to dry completely. Then, display your fun pumpkin prints around your club!
