Thanks to Welsh Government funding, Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids’ Clubs successfully developed and delivered our first Incidental Welsh workshop in the Vale of Glamorgan in September through our CYMell project. This marked a significant step in our efforts to promote the everyday use of the Welsh language in the Out of School Childcare sector.

The workshop was well-attended by various groups and clubs, and participants provided strong positive feedback.

The 90 minute Incidental Welsh Workshop include:

• Ways to overcome barriers to using Welsh within a childcare setting
• Information about the Active Offer
• Welsh language play resources
• Practical ideas to use Welsh
• Confidence building
• Ideas and resources
• Information about the free Welsh language Camau courses

We welcome local authorities and organisations that have not yet organised an Incidental Welsh workshop to get in touch. We are eager to collaborate more and expand the reach of this valuable initiative, ensuring that more settings across Wales are supported to use the Welsh language confidently in everyday practice.
