Who is the course for – Anyone working in a Playwork setting for a minimum of 10 hours a week, that has minimal experience within the sector.

 

What roles is this for – This course is best suited to Out of School Childcare, like after-school clubs as the training happens throughout the year. Once complete it qualifies the participant to work at any Playwork setting

What to expect –

This 12 month course provides the participant with the knowledge and skills to start their Playwork career and move to working as a qualified Playworker. The course covers, the Playwork Principles, relationships with children and the team and Playwork Theory and Practice.

Essential Skills in Maths and English are part of this course unless the participant has G or above in GCSEs in the given subject or an equivalent.

You can also expect:

  • Monthly Visits from your Training Officer
  • Online Training once a week in the evening

  • Face to face practical sessions
  • Responsive and supportive Training Officer

 

Eligibility requirements –

  • Working in a play-based setting.
  • Work a minimum of 10 hours a week (16 and 17-year-olds will need to work a minimum of 16 hours a week)
  • Has the right to live and work in UK
  • Be 16 years or over at the start of the course
