Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids’ Clubs envisions a Wales where children thrive through play and communities prosper. Ahead of the 2026 Senedd elections, Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids’ Clubs calls on all political parties to prioritise Out of School Childcare as vital to upholding children’s rights, enhancing wellbeing, supporting families, and driving economic growth.
The manifesto, shaped by the Out of School Childcare community, urges action in three key areas:
- Wellbeing – Ensuring access to safe, nurturing environments that support children’s right to play and grow.
- Workforce – Valuing and investing in a skilled, supported childcare workforce.
- Funding and Support – Securing sustainable, affordable provision that meets the needs of children, families, and communities.
With over 45,000 children supported and up to 5,000 Playworkers employed, the sector plays a crucial role in enabling parents and carers to work or train, improving family circumstances and contributing to Wales’s future prosperity.
