Operations Manager – Jig-So Children’s Centre, Ceredigion
Closing date: 04/04/2025
Hours: 20 hours per week, Monday – Friday, during term time & school holidays.
Salary: £18.00 per hour
Skills & Experience Essential
- Ability to plan and manage operations, including coordination, staffing and session delivery
- Experience of working within the charitable / voluntary sector with an understanding of children and families’ specific challenges and needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate and non-judgmental approach
- Ability to build relationships with a broad range of stakeholders including other organisations, families, staff and trustees
- Experience of developing and implementing strategic and/or business plans
- Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
- Competence in preparing reports, budgets, and planning with excellent attention to detail and ability to collect data from a variety of sources
- Good time management with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures
- Working knowledge of IT software programs, including Microsoft 365 and other relevant software
- Good understanding of the principles underpinning good grant and funding management
- Full UK driving licence and use of a vehicle
Desirable
- Confident conversing through the medium of Welsh
- Understanding of data protection and GDPR regulations

Description of duties:
A new role, the Operations Manager will lead and develop Jig-So Children’s Centre services and oversee daily activities that provide opportunities for children and their families to access early intervention and preventative support. The successful candidate will work with the Board of Trustees to ensure the Centre’s plans are developed and delivered in line with the aims and objectives of the charity and aligned to Jig-So’s vision and values.
Based in Cardigan, the Manager will work with Jig-So staff, volunteers, partners and the wider community to ensure Jig-So continues to provide welcoming, accessible and safe services for children and their families.
We are looking for a candidate with proven management experience, great communication skills and the ability to speak Welsh would be desirable.
