Playworker – Clwb Y Ddraig, Caerphilly

Hours: 22.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, during term time (before & after school hours) 

Salary: National Living Wage 

Qualifications / experience required:

Level 3 Playwork
Level 3 Childcare or equivalent 

Description of duties: 

  • Create a warm, inclusive and stimulating play environment where children can explore, imagine and lead their own play. 
  • Support a wide range of play opportunities that reflect children’s interests, needs and abilities, intervening sensitively only when required. 
  • Promote children’s wellbeing, independence and rights through positive relationships and childcentred practice. 
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and ensure the safety and welfare of all children at all times. 
  • Carry out daily risk–benefit assessments of indoor and outdoor play spaces and ensure equipment is safe, clean and wellmaintained. 
  • Support daily routines including snack preparation, hygiene practices, tidying, and setting up/packing away resources. 
  • Communicate professionally with children, families and colleagues, contributing to a positive and collaborative team environment. 
  • Maintain accurate records such as registers, incident forms and any required documentation in line with club policies and CIW regulations. 
  • Contribute to planning, reflection and continuous improvement of the play environment and club activities. 
  • Engage in ongoing training and development relevant to Playwork and childcare.
