Flintshire Community Chest 24/25

Flintshire Community Chest Grants are available to support community activity. Applications are now being accepted from organisations benefiting people from Flintshire for a grant of up to £ 1000.  The aim of the grant is to support one off initiatives such as:

  • Minor capital projects for example, building repairs and updating internal fixtures and fittings.
  • Community events
  • Equipment but not consumables*
  • Feasibility studies
  • Publicity / marketing
  • Training and awareness events/courses
  • Responding to national, regional or local emergency situations
  • Recovery from a national, regional or local emergency situation

 

Priority will be given to requests from smaller, local organisations in Flintshire.

Grants will only cover 75% of the total cost, so match funding is essential.

Please note, the maximum of £ 1,000 can only be awarded once in a 2 year period. Successful applicants must wait 12 months before reapplying.

The Hawarden & District Relief in Need Fund

This grant aims to help individuals with limited resources or those considered to be in crisis. The fund also aids groups and organisations supporting vulnerable people.

 

Funding from the Hawarden & District Relief in Need Fund has been used to:

  • buy equipment and activities for Hawarden-based community groups/charities working with vulnerable people in need.
  • purchase of critical household items e.g. white goods, bedding, carpets etc.
  • purchase Items essential to alleviating the suffering of food and fuel poverty (e.g. food parcels, blankets, hot water bottles, thermals, boiler repairs).
  • carry out essential repairs and/or redecoration.
  • provide luncheon clubs, food co-ops, activities that promote community cohesion, reduce isolation and alleviate poverty.

 

Grants available

Individuals and organisations can apply for grants up to £1,000 a year. Organisations applying for a community project can apply for multiple year funding.

 

Who can apply?

  • Groups and organisations working with people who reside in Hawarden
  • Individuals living in Hawarden.

 



The Ashley Family Foundation

The Ashley Family Foundation is a UK registered charity, founded by Sir Bernard Ashley and his wife Laura Ashley following the success of the Laura Ashley brand. Community Foundation Wales is proud to be working with The Ashley Family Foundation to distribute its funding in Wales.

 

The ethos of The Ashley Family Foundation is primarily to strengthen rural communities, both in terms of the social and environmental aspects alongside giving back to the communities that helped the family develop the company into an international success.

 

The Ashley Family Foundation is especially keen to fund work in rural Mid Wales, where the ‘Laura Ashley’ company had a significant impact upon the local economy and the social well-being of its people with increased employment opportunity and the valued team spirit of the workforce.

 

Alongside this, The Ashley Family Foundation are keen to receive applications from small scale arts and community projects in Wales and welcome proposals from community museums/organisations.

 

Grants Available

Organisations can apply for grants of between £500 – 10,000

 

Who can apply?

Charities, unincorporated organisations and community groups with a constitution or terms of reference and a charitable purpose.

 

Projects are awarded funding based upon benefit and value and each project is considered on its own merit.
