Guidance for childcare, preschool and educational settings – Public Health Wales  

Updated guidance includes: 

1. The exclusion period for common infections including A-Z of common infections guidance (v8), this is the Exclusion guidance to assist educational settings re: school attendance
2. The Health protection in Children and young people settings including Education (v3) 2025, this is the Health protection and Infection prevention and control guidance 

Public Health Wales has created a resource to help support the childcare sector in preventing the spread of winter viruses. 

The resource includes: 

• Practical tips on how to reduce the spread of common winter viruses. 

• Useful links to additional materials that can be shared and used within your setting.
