Cymru Virtual Family Service

I’m pleased to introduce Gofod Rhithiol Teulu Cymru / Cymru Virtual Family Space – a free, fully bilingual (Welsh and English) digital service designed to support parents and carers across all 22 local authorities in Wales.

The service offers a wide range of practical, accessible support for families at every stage of their child’s development, helping to promote safer, healthier and more hopeful childhoods.

Families can access free support online with no referral required. Support offered includes:

  • Live, interactive workshops delivered online at flexible times (daytime, evenings and weekends), current topics include Childhood Illness and Prevention, Toddler Talk, Potty Training, Sleep, Empowering Dads and Male Carers, Ready for Reception, Ready to Learn.

  • Support programmes, including the CYGNET autism support programme for parents and carers of children aged 5 to 18 years diagnosed with autism or suspected of having autism.

  • Support from a Family Link Worker to help parents choose the right support

Parents can join sessions from the comfort of their own home, making support more accessible to families who may otherwise struggle to attend in person.

This is an open and universal offer for all parents and carers in Wales, and we are keen to work collaboratively with partners across Local Authorities, Health, Education and the Third Sector to ensure as many families as possible are aware of, and benefit from, the service.

I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you to share more about the service, to attend team meetings or forums to introduce the offer to your staff and explore how we can work together to support families in your area
