Full Day Care Practitioner- Borras Park Full Day Care Provision, Wrexham

Hours: TBC Monday – Friday, during term time & school holidays

Qualifications / experience required:  

Essential  

  • A recognised Level 2 or 3 Childcare qualification (or above) relevant to the role.  
  • Experience working within an early years or childcare setting.  
  • A sound understanding of child development and children’s learning through play. 
  • Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.  
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, And colleagues 
  • A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach. 
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and use initiative when required. 
  • A commitment to equality, inclusion and respecting individual differences. 
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail. 
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and professional standards. 
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. 

Desirable  

  • Experience working within Flying Start, playgroup, Funded Early Education, nursery, After School or Holiday Club settings.  
  • Knowledge of the Welsh Government Early Childhood Play, Learning and Care (ECPLC) framework.  
  • Understanding of the Playwork Principles.  
  • Experience acting as a key person for children.  
  • Knowledge of Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and inclusive practice. 
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification. 
  • Food Hygiene certification.  
  • Welsh language skills.  
  • Experience completing observations, assessments and learning journeys.
