Supporting Out of School Childcare Clubs with our Stepping Out resources is one of our membership benefits.  Our dual language templates provide Clubs with the starting point for their own, individual policies that can be fully edited, adapted to each individual setting.  Clubs are then enabled to develop their policy and meet the National Minimum Standards (NMS) for Childcare and Play within Wales once these policies are embedded within each club’s practice.  Having a clear policy and process for delivery will support your staff to be confident that they are safeguarded within their role.

Within Step 10 – Stepping out we are introducing the ABCC template, an adaptable form for Clubs to record any incidents or reoccurring challenging behaviour.  This form supports the behaviour policy and will enable teams to fully understand triggers causing a particular behaviour for a child. Also to identify patterns that may occur, such as during transition periods from school to club, or during particular activities.  This will support staff within Clubs to understand the behaviour more, providing opportunities to review and adapt experiences for each individual child,

This is also a confidential record that can be used to record incidents and with correct parental permissions, work in partnership with parents and other professionals if there is a requirement.
