Dysgu

Dysgu was established by the Welsh Government on 1 September 2025 to support the professional development of our school educators in Wales and to improve outcomes for learners.

The aim is to provide a range of professional learning opportunities that meet needs and address Welsh Government priorities. To do this effectively, we want to engage with you regularly to ensure that our provision is responsive, accessible, high‑quality, and contributing to improved outcomes.

Since beginning in post in early November, I have spent my time hearing from various directors, school leaders and decision-makers about the challenges and ambitions across the system. I now want to continue that conversation with you.

We have devised a short snapshot survey that should not take too much of your valuable time to complete. Its purpose is to help us understand your current professional learning priorities as an educator so that we can shape opportunities that genuinely respond to your needs and requirements.

I would be grateful if you could share the survey link with your network to enable school leaders, teachers, and teaching support staff to share their views with us anonymously. We will be gathering the views of non‑teaching staff and school governors separately.

If you have any questions about this or any other aspect of our work, please do not hesitate to contact us.
