Powys are pleased to announce the return of the Capital Small Grant Scheme for this year.

Applications must be submitted via the online application form (also available in Welsh).

Please note:

• The online form cannot be saved part-way through, so applications must be completed in one sitting
• A Word version of the application form is attached for reference only
• Only online applications will be accepted
• Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation number – please keep this as proof of submission.

Guidance documents are attached in both Welsh and English. Please read these carefully before applying.

Examples of Previously Funded Projects

Successful applications last year included:

• Outdoor shelters
• New windows and doors
• New flooring
• New outdoor surfaces (artificial grass will not be approved)
• Painting and decorating
• Replacement fencing
• Replacing worn, damaged, or unsafe resources such as:
  • Sandpits
  • Water trays
  • Mud kitchens (photographic evidence must be provided).

These are examples only. If you are unsure whether your project is eligible, please seek advice before applying.

Important Information

Application Process:

• Applications are not assessed on a first-come, first-served basis
• All submissions will be reviewed by a panel after the closing date
• Applicants will be notified in writing once decisions have been made.

Quotes/Estimates:

• For any work exceeding £5,000, three quotes or estimates must be submitted.

Supporting Documents:

• Please ensure all required documents are uploaded as part of your application.

School-Based Settings:

• Applications involving building or outdoor works in school-based settings will require input from the School’s Property Team
• Please seek advice before submitting an application.

Funding Conditions

If your application is successful:

• Funding must be spent by 31 March 2027
• Funds must be used only for the items approved by the panel.
