The Welsh Government has made funding available for the continuation of the Small Capital Grants Scheme, aimed at supporting childcare providers operating within Rhondda Cynon Taf. The grant is intended to help childcare settings carry out essential capital improvements or purchase equipment that will:

• Enhance Welsh-medium childcare provision
• Expand the number of places available for the Childcare Offer for Wales, Flying Start, and/or Foundation Learning programmes
• Improve the overall quality of facilities for children accessing these funded childcare services.

To be eligible, applicants must demonstrate that their childcare setting:

• Is located within Rhondda Cynon Taf
• Is fully registered with Care Inspectorate Wales (or currently progressing through registration while meeting minimum requirements)
• Commits to delivering childcare through a Welsh Government-funded programme for at least five years from the date the grant is awarded
• Is registered with the Family Information Service (FIS) and DEWIS.

Applications will be assessed against the eligibility criteria and funding priorities, with grants awarded to projects that offer the greatest positive impact on childcare provision in the area.

The application deadline is midnight on Friday, 12 June 2026.
